Aberdeen's granite architecture literally sparkles after rain — Marischal College is the world's second-largest granite building. The city's charm hides in corners: Footdee ('Fittie'), the perfectly preserved fishing village at the harbour mouth; Old Aberdeen's cobbled university quarter; and a long golden beach minutes from the centre. South along the coast, 鄧諾特城堡（Dunnottar Castle）is the region's superstar — a ruined fortress on a sheer sea-rock, ranked among Scotland's three most dramatic castle settings and a 40-minute drive away.

Royal Deeside & the Castle Trail
