How a Photo Tour Differs

The structural differences: days start pre-dawn and pause mid-afternoon (harsh light hours become driving/eating hours), then resume for golden hour and run past sunset into blue hour; the itinerary lists light windows, not opening times; locations are sequenced by sun angle — the Storr faces the sunrise, Neist Point the sunset, and Eilean Donan's reflection needs the wind to drop at dusk; and the vehicle waits, warm, however long the cloud takes to break. Tripods, filters and drone gear travel flat and safe in the Alphard; batteries charge between stops; and your driver holds the flask while you hold the shutter.

The three photo-tour formats: ① the Skye Intensive (3 days, two Portree nights): Storr dawn ×2 chances, Quiraing golden hour, Neist Point sunset, Elgol's Cuillin panorama, Fairy Glen — the deepest portfolio-builder; ② the Glencoe Light-Chaser (1 long day): Rannoch Moor dawn, the Three Sisters through changing weather, Glen Etive, Glenfinnan timed to the steam plume; ③ seasonal specials — October gold in Perthshire, winter aurora standby (route flexes to the Kp index), May bluebell woods.
