劍橋（Cambridge）is best read from the water: a chauffeured punt down the Backs glides past King's College Chapel（國王學院禮拜堂）, the Bridge of Sighs and under the Mathematical Bridge — 45 minutes of the finest architecture-per-metre in Britain. The Chinese-reader layer is unique here: 徐志摩's《再別康橋》made this river sacred to generations — the memorial stone bearing his lines sits in King's College grounds by the willow he wrote of, and standing there closes a loop a billion readers know. Add King's Chapel's fan vaulting (evensong if timing allows), the Fitzwilliam Museum's free treasures, and Grantchester Meadows for the orchard tea Rupert Brooke immortalised.
