The UK uses the pound sterling (£), and it's largely a cashless society: card and contactless payment are accepted almost everywhere (tap your card or phone for most transactions — cash is rarely needed), Apple Pay and Google Pay work widely, and most business expenses (hotels, restaurants, transport) are easily paid by card. For Chinese travellers: Alipay and WeChat Pay acceptance is growing but not universal in the UK — some shops, especially those catering to Chinese visitors, accept them, but don't rely on them everywhere; a credit card (with no or low foreign-transaction fees) is the most reliable. It's worth having a small amount of cash for the rare cash-only situation, but you'll mostly use card. Check your card's foreign-transaction fees before travelling, and consider a travel-friendly card for a longer trip.
