Typical routes and times
Edinburgh to Manchester is about four hours; Manchester to Birmingham two; Birmingham to London two and a half — all outside peak. One city a day for five days covers Edinburgh, Manchester, Birmingham and London, finishing at Heathrow.
Why not fly
Edinburgh to London is ninety minutes in the air, which sounds decisive. In practice it is: get to the airport, arrive two hours early, security, boarding, the flight, baggage, then the run into the city. Door to door is usually five to six hours, and none of those hours is continuous working time.
Luggage between cities
The car carries your cases. You check out, go straight to your meeting, and the luggage stays with the vehicle. In the evening the driver takes it into the new hotel. Over five days and three hotels, not dragging a case around is a real difference.
When the schedule changes
Business schedules change. A meeting overruns, the other side moves the time, you want to add a stop. Tell the driver — there is no rebooking and no call centre. That is the most practical value of a dedicated arrangement.
Teams larger than four
Four guests with luggage per vehicle. A team of eight needs two cars, coordinated as one convoy with a single schedule and one point of contact rather than two separate bookings. Two vehicles also means the team can split when it needs to and regroup for dinner.

多数路段实际车程两至三个钟，中间有停留。十日环岛最长那日大约四个钟，我们会用一顿正经午餐分隔开，而不是高速公路服务区。大约每九十分钟停一次——有些是观景点，有些纯粹因为有人想饮杯咖啡。高地公路要特别留意：地图估两个钟，实际接近三个钟。
为什么路线这么排
地理决定次序，和他对著干只会浪费日数。由爱丁堡出发，合理动线是南下经约克、曼彻斯特，到达剑桥和伦敦，再经湖区北返。全程不走回头路，每日车程控制在四个钟内，而且最后返到爱丁堡——同一个机场离境，不用买单程机票返伦敦。
