Journey time
Edinburgh Airport sits about eight miles west of the city. In normal traffic the run takes 25 to 30 minutes; during weekday rush hour allow 40. The tram takes 35 minutes but drops you at St Andrew Square, still a walk or a taxi from most hotels.
Meeting you
We track the flight. If you land early we are early; if you are held on the tarmac we wait. The driver meets you in the arrivals hall with a name board, helps with luggage, and walks you to the vehicle in the short-stay car park.
Luggage and party size
The seven-seater takes four guests with four large cases comfortably. Five or six guests travel fine with hand luggage only. Tell us the case count when booking and we will confirm honestly whether one vehicle is enough.
The rhythm of stops
We stop roughly every ninety minutes. Some are viewpoints, some are simply because someone wants a coffee or a toilet. On some Highland stretches there is nothing for forty miles, so these stops are planned rather than improvised.
What we will not do
We do not push you into shops or restaurants that pay commission — we take none. We do not add unrequested items and charge for them, or recommend hotels we have not used. If your plan does not fit the days, or self-drive suits you better, we say so even when it costs us the booking.
What language support actually means
Our chauffeur-guides speak Mandarin, Cantonese and English, from first enquiry to final drop-off. In Edinburgh you can manage in English. On a single-track Highland road when the weather turns, having someone explain the options in your own language is a different kind of comfort.
What the vehicle actually holds
The Alphard and Vellfire seat seven, but seven seats and seven suitcases are different problems. With the rear row up, the boot takes about four 26-inch cases — hence four guests with full luggage. Five or more with checked bags means a second vehicle, and we say so before you book rather than at the kerb.
