Same Fare All Year
The ten-day Round Britain tour is £4,845 all year; day tours £480–£510; business chauffeur £550. Trips of six days or more are the same price all year; shorter trips are priced per car by month: day tours £480 (November to March) or £510 (April to October); two days £1,200 / £1,275; three days £1,440 / £1,530; five days £2,400 / £2,550.
How much accommodation moves
Mid-range hotels cost around £150–250 per room per night on weekdays. In the busy months of July and August they usually rise 30–50%. During Edinburgh's August Fringe and New Year they can triple. This is the biggest variable in your total budget.
Best-Value Times
Late May to early June, and the first three weeks of September. You still get 14–15 hours of daylight, weather close to summer, accommodation 30% cheaper than July, and much quieter Highland roads. Locals choose these times for their own holidays.
The most expensive dates
Edinburgh's New Year (Hogmanay), the August Fringe and the Easter holidays. Hotel prices are highest at these times and book up months ahead. If your dates can avoid them, you save not just money but crowds too.
The winter trade-off
November to March has the cheapest accommodation, the quietest attractions and spectacular snow scenery. But in December Edinburgh gets only about six hours of daylight (sunrise 8:45, sunset 3:30), so itineraries must be shorter. It's cheaper, but you'll also see less — be honest about that trade-off.
How the price actually works
We price by the day, not by the mile. Day tours run £480 (Nov–Mar) or £510 (Apr–Oct) for the business seven-seater; the ten-day loop is £4,845 for the whole trip; six days is £2,805. That covers fuel, parking, tolls and the chauffeur-guide, with no fuel surcharge or overtime fee at the end. Accommodation, if we arrange it, is £150 per person per night (4-star) and is charged after hotels confirm.
How party size changes the per-person cost
The vehicle price is fixed, so more people means a lower share each. The ten-day loop at £4,845 works out at £2,422.50 each for two, or £1,211.25 each for four. Accommodation goes the other way: two guests need one room, four need two. All in, four travellers typically pay about 20–25% less per person than two.
What we will not do
We will not push you into shops or restaurants that pay commission, add items you did not ask for and charge for them, or tell you a hotel is good if we have not used it. If your plan does not fit the days, or self-drive would genuinely be better value for you, or a small-group tour suits you more — we will say so, even when it costs us the booking.
