Guests never arrive together

The typical pattern is a bride's family landing Thursday morning, friends arriving in scattered pairs through Friday, and two or three stragglers on the last flight the night before. Handling that as fifteen separate bookings creates fifteen chances for something to go wrong. We handle it as one co-ordinated set with a single point of contact — usually the couple or a designated organiser — and a consolidated quote, so nobody in the wedding party is individually chasing a car while trying to enjoy the weekend.

Castle venues and the last mile

Scottish wedding venues are frequently castles, country houses or estates at the end of a private drive, sometimes several miles from the nearest village. Satellite navigation often puts the pin at the estate boundary rather than the entrance, and the entrance may be an unmarked gate. We get the venue's own arrival instructions in advance and, where we have driven it before, we already know. For an evening ceremony in winter this matters more than it sounds — these drives are unlit.

Dresses, kilts and things that must not crease

Wedding luggage is not normal luggage. Dresses travel in garment boxes that cannot be folded or laid under cases, hire kilts arrive in their own bags, and there are usually flowers, favours or a cake box somewhere in the party. Tell us what is travelling and we plan the space properly — a dress box lying flat across a folded seat is a different vehicle calculation from four suitcases. It is worth the two-minute message.

Co-ordinating wedding arrivals

1. Nominate one contact for the whole party — usually not the couple.
2. Send the full arrival list: names, flights, landing times, group sizes.
3. Forward the venue's own arrival instructions, not just the postcode.
4. List dress boxes, kilts, flowers and anything that cannot be stacked.
