Flatter, smaller, and more intact medieval street pattern. The walls are walkable. Everything is within fifteen minutes on foot.

Vertical, dramatic, built on a volcanic ridge. The closes and steps give it a density York does not have, but the hills are real.

You get both, two days apart. Most guests find the contrast makes each one better rather than repetitive.
How long the drive really takes
Map estimates in the Highlands are typically a third optimistic. Single-track roads mean constant pulling in to pass, and in summer add motorhomes: a two-hour leg is closer to three. We plan on real times, which is why our days look shorter on paper and actually finish.
What we will not do
We do not push you into shops or restaurants that pay commission — we take none. We do not add unrequested items and charge for them, or recommend hotels we have not used. If your plan does not fit the days, or self-drive suits you better, we say so even when it costs us the booking.
What language support actually means
Our chauffeur-guides speak Mandarin, Cantonese and English, from first enquiry to final drop-off. In Edinburgh you can manage in English. On a single-track Highland road when the weather turns, having someone explain the options in your own language is a different kind of comfort.
