Both are destinations rather than shops. Harrods' food halls are worth seeing even if you buy nothing.
Bicester Village
An outlet an hour northwest with most luxury brands. Popular with Asian visitors and correspondingly busy. Allow four hours including travel.
How long the drive really takes
Map estimates in the Highlands are typically a third optimistic. Single-track roads mean constant pulling in to pass, and in summer add motorhomes: a two-hour leg is closer to three. We plan on real times, which is why our days look shorter on paper and actually finish.
What we will not do
We do not push you into shops or restaurants that pay commission — we take none. We do not add unrequested items and charge for them, or recommend hotels we have not used. If your plan does not fit the days, or self-drive suits you better, we say so even when it costs us the booking.
