Pace

A photography trip covers roughly half the ground of a sightseeing trip. Three locations a day rather than six, with time to wait for light.

Flexibility

We swap the order when the weather changes. If Quiraing is clouded in, we go to Neist Point and return the next morning. That is the point of a private vehicle.

Planning a Photography-Focused Trip

Early starts

Sunrise shoots mean 3:30 departures in June. We will do it, and we will tell you honestly the night before whether the forecast justifies it.

The rhythm of stops

We stop roughly every ninety minutes. Some are viewpoints, some are simply because someone wants a coffee or a toilet. On some Highland stretches there is nothing for forty miles, so these stops are planned rather than improvised.

What the vehicle actually holds

The Alphard and Vellfire seat seven, but seven seats and seven suitcases are different problems. With the rear row up, the boot takes about four 26-inch cases — hence four guests with full luggage. Five or more with checked bags means a second vehicle, and we say so before you book rather than at the kerb.

Plan This Journey

Tell us your dates and party size — we will confirm honestly what fits.
