Summer highs are 17–20°C, occasionally 25. Evenings drop to 10. Layers rather than a single warm coat.
Rain
It will rain at some point. A packable waterproof jacket earns its space every trip. Umbrellas fail in Highland wind.
Footwear
Comfortable walking shoes with grip. Edinburgh's cobbles and Highland paths both punish thin soles.
How weather changes the day
Four seasons in a day is not a joke here. We do not cancel for rain — we reorder. If Quiraing is clouded in we go to Neist Point and come back the next morning. That flexibility is the practical value of a private vehicle.
Booking and changes
A £180 deposit secures the dates and the balance is settled before departure. Changes more than 30 days out are usually free; inside 30 days it depends on whether we can refill the slot. The deposit is non-refundable, stated before you pay. If we are the ones who cannot deliver, we refund in full including the deposit.
What the vehicle actually holds
The Alphard and Vellfire seat seven, but seven seats and seven suitcases are different problems. With the rear row up, the boot takes about four 26-inch cases — hence four guests with full luggage. Five or more with checked bags means a second vehicle, and we say so before you book rather than at the kerb.
