Weather
Scottish summer highs are 17–20°C, evenings 10, and the Highlands colder. You can get four seasons in a day — sun, wind, rain, sun. Bring layers and a waterproof jacket with a hood rather than an umbrella, which the wind destroys.
Daylight
In June the sun rises around 4:30 and sets close to 10pm, which is disorienting if you are used to twelve-hour days. It is still bright at nine and sleeping can be difficult — an eye mask is genuinely useful. Winter is the opposite: six to eight hours of light.
Food
Ten days of British food is a test if you are used to Singaporean or Malaysian eating. Edinburgh and Glasgow have decent Cantonese, Sichuan and halal restaurants; the Highlands have almost nothing. We plan lunch stops accordingly, and bringing some instant options is entirely reasonable.
Tipping and cards
Ten percent in restaurants if service is not included, round up for taxis, and nobody minds if you do not — closer to Singaporean habits than American ones. Contactless works everywhere, but some Highland pubs and car parks are cash only; £50 covers it.
Scottish banknotes
Scottish banks issue their own notes. They are legal currency across the UK, though some English shops hesitate. Spend them before you leave Scotland.
Driving
Britain drives on the left, as Singapore and Malaysia do, so you have an advantage there. But Highland single-track roads require passing places and reversing, and the weather changes fast. A holiday is not the ideal time to learn.

多数路段实际车程两至三个钟，中间有停留。十日环岛最长那日大约四个钟，我们会用一顿正经午餐分隔开，而不是高速公路服务区。大约每九十分钟停一次——有些是观景点，有些纯粹因为有人想饮杯咖啡。高地公路要特别留意：地图估两个钟，实际接近三个钟。
车辆实际载得多少
Toyota Alphard 和 Vellfire 是七座，但七个座位和七件行李是两回事。第三排立起那阵，尾箱大约放到四件 26 吋行李箱。所以我们说「最多四位客人连全套行李」——五位或以上有托运行李，我们会安排第二架车，不会勉强塞。
我们不会做的嘢
我们不会迫你入有佣金的商店或者餐厅。不会在你未问之前加项目再收钱。不会话一间我们没有住过的酒店好。如果你的计划日数不够、或者自驾对你来说其实更抵、又或者小团游更适合你，我们会直接说——就算这样会少做一单。
