How many people at most?
Four guests with full luggage is the comfortable limit for one vehicle. Five or more with checked bags need a second vehicle. Short trips without luggage can take six. We will tell you honestly rather than promise a squeeze.
Luggage limits
One 26-inch suitcase per person plus a small carry-on bag. Ten days in the UK usually involves shopping, and guests routinely underestimate this — we suggest keeping one case half-empty or arranging a shipment home from London.
Do you have child seats?
Yes — infant carriers, toddler seats and booster cushions are provided free of charge. Please tell us ages and weights when booking rather than on the day, as they need to be prepared in advance.
Can you cater for dietary needs?
Yes. Let us know about halal, vegetarian, allergies or other requirements when booking and we will plan lunch stops around them. Cities have plenty of choice; the Highlands need arranging in advance — the difference is very real.
What if it rains?
It rains in the UK, especially in Scotland. We do not cancel for it, but we adjust the order — bringing indoor sights forward and saving viewpoints for when it clears. Grey skies in the Highlands often make for more dramatic photographs than bright sunshine.
Deposit and date changes
A 20% deposit secures the dates and the balance is settled before departure. Date changes more than 30 days out are usually free; inside 30 days it depends on whether we can refill the slot. The deposit is non-refundable — standard practice, and stated upfront.
How long the drive really takes
Map estimates in the Highlands are typically a third optimistic. Single-track roads mean constant pulling in to pass, and in summer add motorhomes: a two-hour leg is closer to three. We plan on real times, which is why our days look shorter on paper and actually finish.
How weather changes the day
Four seasons in a day is not a joke here. We do not cancel for rain — we reorder. If Quiraing is clouded in we go to Neist Point and come back the next morning. That flexibility is the practical value of a private vehicle.
