Flying
Ninety minutes in the air, but door to door is usually five to six hours: getting to the airport, arriving two hours early, security, the flight, baggage and the run into the city. Cheapest but the most fragmented.
Train
King's Cross to Waverley is about four and a half hours, centre to centre. Booked ahead, £50–90; on the day, up to three times that. The east coast route is scenic. This is the most comfortable way to make the single journey.
Driving
Seven to eight hours, which is not a day trip. But if you want to see things on the way — York, Durham, Hadrian's Wall — it stops being a transfer and becomes an itinerary. Our ten-day loop does exactly this, turning the journey into three days of content.
What we suggest
If you simply need to get from London to Edinburgh, take the train. If you want to see northern England, use a car over two or three days. There is no point paying for a chauffeur to sit on a motorway — that is wasted money.
Luggage
On trains you handle your own bags, luggage racks are limited and in peak season may be full. With three or four large cases that is a genuine problem, which a car removes.

为什么路线这么排
地理决定次序，和他对著干只会浪费日数。由爱丁堡出发，合理动线是南下经约克、曼彻斯特，到达剑桥和伦敦，再经湖区北返。全程不走回头路，每日车程控制在四个钟内，而且最后返到爱丁堡——同一个机场离境，不用买单程机票返伦敦。
我们不会做的嘢
我们不会迫你入有佣金的商店或者餐厅。不会在你未问之前加项目再收钱。不会话一间我们没有住过的酒店好。如果你的计划日数不够、或者自驾对你来说其实更抵、又或者小团游更适合你，我们会直接说——就算这样会少做一单。
实际车程要几耐
地图估的时间在高地通常乐观三成。单线道要不停靠哪会车，夏天再加露营车，两个钟的路段实际接近三个钟。我们排行程用真实时间，所以我们的日程纸面上看起来短些——但不会做不完。
预订和改期
£180 订金锁定日期，余额出发前结清。出发前三十日以上改期通常免费;三十日内就要看我们补不补得返个档期。订金不设退款——业界惯例，我们在你付款之前就说明。如果是我们做不到，全额退款包括订金。
应该带什么
有帽的防水外套胜过雨伞(风会吹烂把遮)、分层衣物胜过一件厚褛、有抓地力的步行鞋。夏天最高十七至二十度、晚上跌到十度、高地更冻。这些不是客套提醒，是每个月都有客人低估的嘢。
