The daylight
In December Edinburgh sees sunrise at 8:45 and sunset at 3:30, shorter further north. This is winter's single biggest constraint: usable hours are a third of summer. Itineraries must be shorter and more concentrated.
Road conditions
Highland passes close in snow, sometimes at short notice. The A9 and the Glencoe road are usually cleared quickly; minor roads may not be. We check conditions every morning and will say honestly if a day is not worth doing rather than taking the money anyway.
What you get
Snow on the Cairngorms and Glencoe, viewpoints entirely to yourself, firelit pubs, and light that stays golden all day because the sun never gets high. Photographically, winter Scotland is the most dramatic.
Cost
Accommodation is at its cheapest except around New Year, and there are no queues. Our vehicle rate is the same all year, so a winter trip costs noticeably less overall.
Whether it suits you
If this is your first UK visit and you want to see a lot, summer is better. If you have been before, or you are coming for photography and solitude, winter is unmatched. With young children, six hours of light plus cold is hard work.

多数路段实际车程两至三个钟，中间有停留。十日环岛最长那日大约四个钟，我们会用一顿正经午餐分隔开，而不是高速公路服务区。大约每九十分钟停一次——有些是观景点，有些纯粹因为有人想饮杯咖啡。高地公路要特别留意：地图估两个钟，实际接近三个钟。
车辆实际载得多少
Toyota Alphard 和 Vellfire 是七座，但七个座位和七件行李是两回事。第三排立起那阵，尾箱大约放到四件 26 吋行李箱。所以我们说「最多四位客人连全套行李」——五位或以上有托运行李，我们会安排第二架车，不会勉强塞。
我们不会做的嘢
我们不会迫你入有佣金的商店或者餐厅。不会在你未问之前加项目再收钱。不会话一间我们没有住过的酒店好。如果你的计划日数不够、或者自驾对你来说其实更抵、又或者小团游更适合你，我们会直接说——就算这样会少做一单。
天气怎么影响行程
苏格兰一日四季不是说笑。我们不会因为落雨就取消——但会调转次序。如果 Quiraing 被云盖住，我们会先去 Neist Point，第二朝再回来。这种弹性就是私人包车最实际的价值。
