Actual temperatures
Summer highs are 17–20°C, occasionally 25, with evenings dropping to 10. In winter coastal Scotland rarely goes below freezing but the Highlands regularly do. Rain is possible year round — the west of Scotland is among the wettest parts of Britain.
Layers
Layers beat one thick coat: a thermal base, a fleece mid-layer and a waterproof shell. Buildings are heated to about 21°C so you will be removing layers indoors constantly, which one heavy coat handles badly.
Rain gear
A waterproof jacket with a hood beats an umbrella, which Highland wind destroys. Waterproof trousers sound excessive until the Fairy Pools walk. Rain does not mean cancelling: wet rock holds its colour and waterfalls actually run.
Footwear
Waterproof walking shoes with grip. Edinburgh's cobbles are slippery wet and treacherous when icy; Highland paths are often muddy. You do not need boots, but city trainers will not do.
Daylight
In June the sun rises at 4:30 and sets close to 10pm, which is disorienting if you are used to twelve-hour days; it is still bright at nine and an eye mask genuinely helps. December is the reverse with six hours of light. This directly determines how much a day can hold.

多数路段实际车程两至三个钟，中间有停留。十日环岛最长那日大约四个钟，我们会用一顿正经午餐分隔开，而不是高速公路服务区。大约每九十分钟停一次——有些是观景点，有些纯粹因为有人想饮杯咖啡。高地公路要特别留意：地图估两个钟，实际接近三个钟。

我们不会做的嘢
我们不会迫你入有佣金的商店或者餐厅。不会在你未问之前加项目再收钱。不会话一间我们没有住过的酒店好。如果你的计划日数不够、或者自驾对你来说其实更抵、又或者小团游更适合你，我们会直接说——就算这样会少做一单。
应该带什么
有帽的防水外套胜过雨伞(风会吹烂把遮)、分层衣物胜过一件厚褛、有抓地力的步行鞋。夏天最高十七至二十度、晚上跌到十度、高地更冻。这些不是客套提醒，是每个月都有客人低估的嘢。
天气怎么影响行程
苏格兰一日四季不是说笑。我们不会因为落雨就取消——但会调转次序。如果 Quiraing 被云盖住，我们会先去 Neist Point，第二朝再回来。这种弹性就是私人包车最实际的价值。
