Tickets are sold at edwinterfest.com/hogmanay; headliners for 2026 had not been announced at the time of writing. The 2025–26 Street Party sold out with more than 50,000 people, so book early.
Can Hogmanay be cancelled by weather?
Yes. In 2024–25 the outdoor events on 30 and 31 December, including the Street Party and the midnight fireworks, were called off because of high winds. Hogmanay 2025–26 went ahead. Keep an eye on the official site and Met Office warnings in the final days.

- Trains: services wind down from about 7pm on 31 Dec and there are no trains on 1 Jan.
- Buses: evening services end early on 31 Dec.
- Trams: full service with free travel after midnight until 2am, useful only along the tram line.
- Taxis: very hard to get after midnight, with long queues.
- Pre-booked private car: we agree a pickup point outside the closure zone in advance and the driver waits for you.
The city centre arena is ticket-only and closed to traffic on the evening of 31 December; the 2026 traffic plan has not yet been published. Based on last year's timetable; check the 2026 timetable (usually published late November/December).
